7 Axioms of Networking

1. Remember, you can have almost everything you want in life, if you can help others get what they want.
2. Be a "Go-giver." Give time and attention unselfishly.
3. Be a "Fan-addict." Become a fan and show enthusiasm for someone you truly admire.
4. Develop an attitude of positive expectancy. Expect cooperation, collaboration and acceptance.
5. Remember, you get by giving. You can be a source of ideas, connections, information and support for others.
6. Be a "Good-finder." Look for the good in people you encounter. It is easier to remember someone as a good communicator rather than as someone who tends to be longwinded.
7. Be prepared. It boosts your confidence, but avoid coming across as a "know it all" because people do not care how much you know, until they know how much your knowledge can help them.
