Find a Need, Find Potential Employment

Take a moment to look at your environment the next time you walk along a busy sidewalk. What do you notice? If you live in a major metropolitan area you might notice the diversity of people. This is no mirage. It is very real according to the latest data from the 2000 Census. Whether this increase in diversity is due to an influx of immigrants, birth rates, or increased mobility in our society, the impact of it has potential for the resourceful and innovative. When one looks at the bleak (No increase according to a recent Employment Outlook Survey) employment outlook in both the public and private sector for the fourth quarter of this year, it may be a good idea to get in touch with your innovative side.

Take a look at the diverse society needs identified below to help you get started:

Once you identify a need that piques your interest, talk to people who can help you make things happen. Additional training may be needed in some instances, but the need may be so great that you can learn while you earn. After all, this is the goal, and finding meaningful, sustaining, and fulfilling employment while filling a need is most rewarding.
