Welcome Female Executives
By MCN Staff
A recent report released by the National Association of Female Executives listed the
top 25 companies for executive women. The companies selected must meet
consistent, stringent criteria in order to make their list. Some of the criteria include:
- Must have at least two women on Board of Directors
- Must have a high proportion of women at all levels
- Must have leadership development programs yielding measurable results
- Must have a steady trend toward increase in percentage of women at all
management levels
- Must have Woman-friendly company culture
Below is a list of several of the companies meeting all the criteria listed above plus
additional criteria:
List Position/Company Name
- #25 IBM
- #23 Federated Department Stores Inc.
- #18 USA Education, Inc. ("Sallie Mae")
- #16 Merck & Co., Inc.
- #14 Fannie Mae
- #12 SBC Communications Inc.
- #9 The New York Times Company
- #8 Hewlett-Packard
- #7 TIAA-CREF
- #2 Scholastic
It is encouraging and helpful to know that there are companies out there that
welcome women and provide a support system for female executives.
