JJ's Twelve steps to a Successful Job Search

Just a few tips to put you on the right track after sudden job loss.

Get over your job loss, it's nice to have worked there, but you don't now. Move on, this is great opportunity to retake control of your life.

Your new full time job, is looking for a job, i.e., commit yourself to a full-time job search.

Plan your job search so that you minimize the length of your unemployment, and find a good job.

Only YOU can make it happen!! Stay positive.

Don't try to search without the right tools and technology. Keep track of contacts, use the computer and other high-tech tools to aid and guide you.

Keep a confident, outgoing personality. Remember good presentation will get you further with hiring managers than technical qualifications.

Be selective about the companies you'll work for, remember you're in control.

Make every phone call with a specific goal in mind.

Keep your cool in interviews, I once interviewed a guy that fainted during an interview because he was so uptight. Relax, make it a pleasant experience.

Stay Positive!!!! A good ATTITUDE shortens a job search, how can anyone feel good about you, when You don't feel good about yourself.

Consider every offer, but Never accept an offer without asking for at least a day to consider it carefully.
