Details of an Interview.
During the interview process, these are some guidelines you should
follow to impress the interviewer:
- Dress conservatively and maintain a professional disposition.
- Greet the interviewer with a firm handshake and maintain good
eye contact.
- Remain standing until asked to be seated.
- Place any items your are carrying neatly beside your chair.
Never place items on an interviewers desk.
- Maintain an upright position while sitting. Do not slouch.
- Unobtrusively, scan the room for a possible conversation
opener. For instance, a hobby that the interviewer may have.
- Do not talk about yourself unless asked. Even, then be brief
and to the point. Rambling about insignificant things could negatively
impact the interview.
- Listen carefully to the interviewer. Listen for job description
details that were not previously described. Be prepared to tailor
your response to meet any of these not so obvious requirements.
- Your closing remarks should briefly summarize your ability
to contribute to the organization.
- Thank the interviewer for his/her time and extend you hand
for a closing handshake.
