Deserve a good reference

As an employee you should strive to get along with co-workers, show good judgment and be a good performer. These are the things employers value. If you are able to achieve them they will definitely give you a thumbs up when the time comes.

Avoid short timers' disease

Make sure your last few months in a position are impressive. It is a good idea to start improving your work product at the same time you begin looking for a new position. Not only will this set a good impressesion but it is also therapeutic. When you feel good about your performance you feel good about yourself and this positive attitude will reflect in your job interviews.

Do not burn bridges

If you burn the bridge you crossed over on how will you return. Sour relationships developed in the course of employment should be resolved.
