Most managers view time as a very valuable and limited resource. Managers who do not
interview candidates on a routine basis may find themselves scrambling to look over a
résumé minutes before the candidate walks in the door. There is something you can do
besides panic should this happen to you. Frances Quittel, author of Fire Power,
offers the following tips for speeding up the process while covering the essentials:

quick-check list, and keep it handy for quick references. The mere fact that you have a
tool close at hand to help you relieves some of the pressure of the moment, and allows
you time to at least learn the candidate's name.
